Pocinho Bay is located on the lava coast on a small bay opposite Faial, this former hamlet has recently been converted into a high quality rural retreat.
This is an ideal place for a special occasion with its cosmopolitan and chic style. The owner has designed and decorated the original stone cottages beautifully with gorgeous gilded framed mirrors and antique paintings set against the interior lava stone walls.
The beds are large, handmade from polished cedar and there are tranquil areas to relax everywhere from the extensive 13 hectare gardens to the hammocks on the terrace and the freshwater outdoor pool overlooking the bay. A real treat!
At Pocinho Bay there are 5 double ensuite rooms and 1 suite each one separate from the other in the original stone cottages. The bedrooms are all individually decorated and the bathrooms are modern with glass sinks and basalt surround.
There is also a gorgeous and luxurious two bedroom villa overlooking the Atlantic with private entrance and gardens, two bathrooms, kitchenette, fireplace, air conditioning, phone, wi-fi and Jacuzzi.
From its dazzling coastal location with great views towards Faial, Pocinho Bay is 10 minutes away Madalena (the main town on Pico island) and 30 minutes from the airport. See below for more information on Pico island.
Located 10 minutes drive from Madalena and its whale watching companies, it is also ideally positioned for a cycling tour round Pico being on the coastal road. In the summer there are also regular ferries to Faial and São Jorge. However, there is no restaurant on site and the location is isolated so we recommend hiring a car.
Azores Choice provided a prompt, helpful service. they found us the perfect accommodation for our needs and provided superb, expert advice on how to spend our week walking on San Miguel. I would certainly use them again.
