O Refugio

O Refugio is a cosy casa in a quiet neighbourhood on the outskirts of Angra de Heroismo.

Refugio’s a one-bedroom house which also works well for a small family or friends travelling on a budget, thanks owner Andre’s inventive use of space. The main living room/diner has a large sofa and dining table, with an open-plan mezzanine which doubles as a second sleeping space with it’s queen-sized futon. Next door, there’s a large well—equipped kitchen, a master bedroom and a bathroom (with a bathtub). You’ll probably spend most of your time on the patio, with it’s outdoor kitchen, barbecue, traditional wood-fired stove and dining area. You’ll have everything you’ll need to create your very own authentic alcatra – Terceira’s most-famous dish, and we’ll even supply you with the recipe.

In the mornings, it’s a five-minute walk to one of Angra’s best swimming spots at the Zona Balnear da Silveira, and in the evenings it’s a short stroll to one of the favourite restaurants on Terceira: the Q.B Food Court.
