The self catering apartments at Quinta Perpetua are set on the slopes of the island’s main caldeira, just outside the village of Luz on the south coast. Recently renovated in the traditional style, they are a peaceful retreat for walkers and nature lovers.
The studio apartment Casa Flores is situated in the recently renovated traditional farmhouse which forms part of the property. The apartment is approximately 50 square meters and comprises a combined living/bedroom, a cozy kitchen/diner with a traditional oven and chimney (decoration only) and a bathroom with a shower. There is a small library of German books and a hi-fi system (ports: USB, MP3-Player, iPhone).
The one bedroom apartment Casa Pico is on the first floor of one of the new-built houses. The apartment is approximately 54 square meters with wooden floors, 1 double bedroom and a large bathroom with shower and bath. The living/dining room has a well-furnished kitchen at one end and there is a TV, DVD-player and hi-fi equipment with a selection of compact discs for you to listen to.
At Quinta Perpetua both apartments have terraces from which you can enjoy marvellous views over the garden and across the sea to the islands of São Jorge, Faial and Pico.
Behind the house a narrow trail leads you directly to the footpath that circumnavigates the crater and from here you can overlook a significant part of the island and enjoy unforgettable sunsets. Quinta Perpetua is in the centre of the volcano you can visit the impressive cave where fountains of sulphur bubble. In the forest inside the crater there are idyllic barbecue and picnic places.

Quinta Perpetua is close to the village of Luz which has a small supermarket, post office and bar. It’s just 3km to the coastal village of Carapacho where there is a fantastic restaurant open for lunch and dinner, natural sea pools for swimming and a recently restored thermal spa.
