Hotel Colombo

The Hotel Colombo is a modern, three-star hotel on the eastern island of Santa Maria.

The hotel opened its doors to the public in 2004 and is the largest hotel on the island, with a total of eighty-seven rooms: doubles and twins, triple/family rooms, suites and one-bedroom apartments, all with balconies, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. There’s also a guest bar and sun terrace leading you to the outdoor pool.

Santa Maria itself is the most southerly island in the Azores – it’s also a favourite holiday destination for many Azoreans, thanks to its quiet beaches and sunny microclimate. The Hotel Colombo is on the northern edge of Vila do Porto, the island’s historic harbour town (the oldest town in the Azores), and whether you choose to include a hire car or if you’d prefer to explore with our resident guide, you’re never far from many of the island’s beautiful natural landmarks: the Forte de Sao Braz, Ponta do Castelo, and the pretty seaside villages of Sao Lourenco and Maia.
