Aldeia da Fonte

Close to the famous whale watching town of Lajes, the Aldeia da Fonte is a tranquil retreat on the south coast of Pico.

Breaking the mould of traditional-style hotels, the Aldeia isn’t one single building – it feels more like a secluded village with it’s suites and studios divided into numerous buildings, spread amongst the native trees and dry-stone walls of a clifftop woodland. There are four categories of room – standard (20m²), deluxe (24m²), studios (31m²) and suites (56m²). Suites offer the most privacy with a hallway, a twin or double en-suite bedroom and a living room with a kitchenette and an additional sofa bed.

The Aldeia has an excellent bar and al-fresco restaurant specialising in regional Azorean regional cuisine, an outdoor pool overlooking the ocean, a zen room, Tai Chi garden and it’s very own Vigia whale watching tower.
