Casa nas Caldeiras is a relaxing retreat in the beautiful Furnas Valley.

The Sao Miguel parish of Furnas is famous across Portugal for its volcanism: its sulphur-infused hot springs and swimming pools, its fascinating geological history, and its delightful botanical gardens. It’s also a warm and welcoming community, where you can’t help but unwind as you slow to the Furnas pace of life.

Casa nas Caldeiras is a three-bedroom self-catering house which takes its name from the nearby Caldeiras fumaroles. The house is ideal for families or groups of friends, with a sociable, open-plan kitchen/diner at its heart. The décor is typical modern-Azorean: clean lines and warm shades, terracotta-tiled floors, and homely soft furnishings.

The three double bedrooms are equally cosy, served by two modern bathrooms. There’s also a separate ensuite studio annex which can be combined with the main house, with its own well-equipped kitchenette. Both properties have terrace access to a shared garden, with views across the steaming fumaroles and the striking vale of Furnas.
