Discover the beauty of the fascinating island of Terceira from both the land and the sea during your whale & dolphin watching holiday. Based in the elegantly converted fortress, Pousada São Sebastião which overlooks the marina and the Ilheus das Cabras (“Islets of Goats”) you are just 10 minutes walk from our whale and dolphin watching holiday base. Our experienced guides use 2 different boats – the 30 seater ‘Azores’ and the 12 seater ‘Marsol’. Boats are chosen based on the number of clients for that trip so it is not normally possible to request a boat type beforehand.
As well as four 3 hour whale & dolphin watching trips, we include a full day jeep tour of the island visiting the lesser known parts of the island off the normal visitor trail during your whale & dolphin watching holiday. Our friendly expert guide will take you along the coast or inside a volcano, you could milk a cow, or learn how wine is made in Biscoitos village. There is also the opportunity to descend into the magnificent cavern of Carvão. Lunch is included in a wonderful typical restaurant on the coast famed for its ‘Alcatra’ dish – a delicious spiced beef stew cooked for 12 hours and a specialty of the island.
If you’ve still got energy to spare from your whale & dolphin watching holiday, then Terceira offers a wealth of other activities which we can arrange for you : sea kayaking, guided biking, boat trips to see sea birds, guided walking, swimming with dolphins and guided birdwatching trips. In addition to these activities, you should definitely spend some time exploring Angra and walk up to Monte Brasil, the old crater above the town during your whale & dolphin watching holiday in the Azores.
