Our whale and dolphin watching holiday on Pico is based at the Hotel Whale’come ao Pico in Lajes right next door to the whale watching office. Five half days are spent whale watching leaving you time to explore Pico’s rugged scenery. Also included is a visit to the Lajes whaling museum and dinner on the last night (if starting the trip on a Saturday). During your free time it is possible to hire bikes or take trips to the cheese and wine factories or if you’re feeling really energetic, why not climb Mt Pico.
Your boat – Rigid Hull Inflatable (RIB – 8/12 seater). On RIBs you usually sit astride a seat which runs down the middle of the boat (your bottom on the seat and feet on the deck).
Don’t forget, if you would like more or less trips added to your whale and dolphin watching holiday, or would like to stay on Faial as well as Pico, just let us know.
Please note: To maximise the safety of visitors, our boats do not go out in adverse conditions, so days and times of outings will naturally be dependent on prevailing weather conditions.
