Save 25% with our February Special Offer – Seven nights at Quinta do Mar

Was £2263pp now £1696pp.

February is one of our favourite months on Sao Miguel, as the busy New Year becomes a distant memory, and the island returns to the quiet and calm of a mild Azorean winter. Although you couldn’t accuse the south coast village of Caloura of ever being busy. Secluded tranquillity has always been Caloura’s appeal – something boutique hotel Quinta do Mar offers in spades.

Sao Miguel’s south coast is also one the best places to observe ocean wildlife – particularly bottlenosed dolphins and sperm whales – and you’ll head to sea with the island’s best conservationists: the team at Terra Azul. You’ll also spend time with our resident guides exploring the length and breadth of Sao Miguel: from the breath-taking beauty of Sete Cidades, to the famous hot springs of the Parque Terra Nostra in Furnas, with a visit to the dramatic Lagoa do Fogo mountains squeezed in between.

You’ll become an expert on Azorean cuisine on our Ponta Delgada Food Tour. Sao Miguel’s mild climate and fertile soils produce a fantastic range of seasonal fruits and vegetables - you’ll have a chance to sample the island’s best produce.
