Located in the centre of the town of Furnas is the famous Terra Nostra Garden Hotel.Not only does it benefit from being close to the hot springs and bubbling mud pools of the Furnas valley but it has a rather special feature. The grounds of the hotel are the internationally acclaimed Terra Nostra Botanical Gardens, a well established 85 year old garden with an area of 12.5 hectares.
Many of the rooms at the hotel look directly out over the garden with its thousands of species of plant and tree displayed in the lush valley surroundings. All guests have free entry to the botanical gardens (which are open to the public during the day) and the use of the outdoor geothermally heated ferruginous pool.
