old house is Isabel, a direct descendent of Thomas
Hickling who owned and started the planting at
the Terra Nostra botanical garden. Ask to see her
Hickling heirlooms! Isabel speaks several languages
and has been a tour guide (mainly on São Miguel)
for 30 years so she’ll be able to tell you all about
the peaceful lagoon, bubbling mud pools and hot
springs of Furnas, all of which are within walking
distance of the house.

Each apartment is equipped for self catering with its own kitchen, sitting room and ensuite bathroom and they both look out onto the garden. There is also a covered garden patio where breakfast is served. Situated near to Domus Adepta are several restaurants, a bank, pharmacy and grocery shops.
