Description
Beautifully renovated following the earthquakes in the 30’s, this wonderful 200 year old watermill offers very comfortable accommodation with lots of traditional features. The living room still houses the original millstone and wood oven (both of which still work!) and the water channel that powered the stones runs underneath the house and is visible from inside by clever use of glass panels.

Outside there is a small garden reached through the kitchen and one of the bedrooms. The house is set in the pretty coastal village of Faial da Terra on the south coast with a shingle beach, stunning walks and a couple of cafés and restaurants on either side of the river which divides the village.
