Description
Set in the small inland village of São Pedro, this traditional home was
originally built in 1840 and is a lovely base for exploring the whole island
and is just 6km from the sandy beach at Praia.
Guests have use of the living
room on the ground floor with TV, the breakfast room, several games and
the large outdoor swimming pool. In the fields around the house there is a
horse riding arena, 3 horses, 2 ponies and 3 donkeys; all of which guests
can ride. There are also goats, sheep, ducks, potbellied pigs, guinea fowl,
swans and pheasants!
The daughter of the owner is a divemaster and has 4 full sets of equipment
if you would like to explore the waters around Santa Maria. Also in the
family business is the excellent Rosa Alta restaurant 5 minutes walk from
the house which previous guests have really enjoyed.
