front in the former whaling town of São Roque on the North coast of Pico.
The house retains many of the original features and has a grand first floor
lounge with large windows overlooking the ocean, open fire, comfortable
sofas, antique furniture and some interesting maritime memorabilia.
There is a small terrace at the back of the house and from there you can
reach a viewpoint overlooking São Jorge. São Roque is also one of the two
ferry ports on the island and there is an interesting, recently refurbished
whaling museum to explore just 5 minutes walk from the house.
