Having returned from California to Pico supposedly for a quieter life for her husband, the energetic owner of this traditional village house took on the organisation of its renovation among others.
The house is located just outside (2km) the quiet fishing village of Prainha on the North coast of the island overlooking São Jorge. It is fully equipped for self catering (towels and linen are provided) and built from traditional lava stone.
There is also a supermarket in the village and a pizza restaurant within walking distance but the location is fairly remote so a hire car is essential.

Located between Ribeira do Alto and Conteiras, this traditional house is located high up, 400m from the coast with gorgeous views of São Jorge, the blue ocean and the green mountains behind.
It has a very spacious fully equipped kitchen and dining area with a view to São Jorge. There is also a separate lounge and a twin bedroom upstairs with a double bedroom and bathroom downstairs. Outside, there is a BBQ area and terrace with outdoor furniture where you can enjoy a meal and listen to the birdsong. There is also a large ‘yard’ area around the house which is shared with Casa das Conteiras.
