Having returned from California to Pico supposedly for a quieter life for her husband, the energetic owner of this traditional village house took on the organisation of its renovation among others.
The house is located just outside (2km) the quiet fishing village of Prainha on the North coast of the island overlooking São Jorge. It is fully equipped for self catering (towels and linen are provided) and built from traditional lava stone.
There is also a supermarket in the village and a pizza restaurant within walking distance but the location is fairly remote so a hire car is essential.

30m up the road from Conteiras and Flor da Ribeira, this lovely house is located high up, 400m from the coast with gorgeous views of São Jorge, the blue ocean and the green mountains behind.
It has one double bedroom with ensuite shower room and two twin rooms with an additional shower room. There is a small fully equipped kitchen with a private terrace for eating out and a lovely spot for watching the sun set. There is also a spacious dining/living room which open on to a balcony at the front of the house. In the living room there is a double sofa bed for children so the house can take up to 6 adults and 2 children if necessary
