São Miguel
São Miguel is the largest island in the Azores archipelago and maintains a charm typical of the islands, where life is polite and unhurried. A wealth of things to see and activities to do, you’ll find scenes of untouched beauty as you explore this magical island.
Faial
Faial is the most cosmopolitan of the central Azores islands and also one of the most beautiful, rising gently through pastureland to the main crater, which dominates the island.
Terceira
On Terceira, traditional coastal villages and wild interior moorland are ready to welcome you. Wander through the cobbled streets of the capital, Angra do Heroísmo, and soak up the quiet Azores charm of this UNESCO World Heritage town.
Santa Maria
Just south east of São Miguel lies Santa Maria and some of the Azores’ most dramatic beaches and spectacular coastline. With its deep, sandy bays and lush green interior, Santa Maria is a paradise for surfers and walkers alike.
Graciosa
Known as the ‘White Island’, Graciosa has a gentle rolling landscape, dotted with windmills and traditional whitewashed houses. The island’s peaceful, rural charm is perfect for a truly relaxing Azores break.
Pico
Dominated by the majestic volcanic cone from which the island takes its name, Pico provides the keen walker with the opportunity to stand on the highest point of the Azores (and of Portugal!).
São Jorge
A walker’s paradise in the Azores! São Jorge is a long, snaking spine of peaks, whose backbone is peppered with lush green craters, the sides dramatically tumbling to the ocean blue below.
Flores and Corvo
With its semi-tropical landscape, Flores is the most beautiful and romantic island in the Azores archipelago, whereas the picturesque Corvo and the warm hospitality of the people that call it home will certainly find a place in your heart.
Lisbon Stopovers
Why not break up or extend your trip to the Azores with a stopover in Lisbon? This colourful city has lots to offer and provides a fascinating introduction to Portuguese life.
