a fuss of wherever they go – even visitor’s children. The warm welcome you’ll receive will make you and your family feel right at home. And with so much to see and do, the hardest part will be deciding when to leave!

SWIMMING
Being in the mid-Atlantic and due to the volcanic origins of the islands, you can
choose to swim in a warm pool at the bottom of a waterfall surrounded by tree ferns, in a geothermal outdoor swimming pool set in stunning botanical gardens or in the sea where submarine vents keep the water warm. Cooler, natural lava rock pools scatter the coast, and often have changing rooms and toilets close by. There are also sandy beaches on São Miguel, Santa Maria and Faial – each
providing a great day out.

WHALE AND DOLPHIN WATCHING
Seeing the whales and dolphins in their natural environment is a unique experience for children and adults alike. Trips can be arranged from São Miguel, Faial and Pico. OTHER ACTIVITIES
Why not try one of the many other activities available on the islands including guided and independent walks, 4x4 jeep tours round volcanic craters, mountain bike rides round pretty lake shores and through mountain ranges, swimming with playful dolphins and horse riding in Furnas’ volcanic basin. Kayaking, orienteering and archery are also available.
