This high quality rural accommodation is unique. It is located just 1km from the most important volcanic site on the Azores; the volcano of Capelinhos. Not only that, but the house is the
result of extensive renovation of several buildings
that were buried by ash during the eruption.
The friendly owners live on site with their young
daughter and two dogs and a donkey and speak
good English.
Within the gated grounds of Casa Vulcão there
is a small children’s playground area, outdoor
swimming pool and lawns with BBQ for guests
use. Bicycles are also available if you would like to
explore the quiet roads.

This is an imaginative conversion of a farm house and its three outbuildings and was opened in December 2004. The buildings are all of traditional black lava stone brightened with red woodwork for the shutters and doors and inside the floors are all polished wood. The accommodation is fresh and spacious with air conditioning and excellent facilities (especially in the kitchens).
Main House This houses a 2 bedroom apartment with two twin rooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom.
Atafona Originally the grain store, this building now has 3 twin rooms, two bathrooms, dining room, kitchen and lounge.
Palheiro This was where the straw and farm utensils were kept and now houses two 1 bedroom apartments each with living room, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom.
Carro de Bois Originally the home of the ox and the ox cart, this now accommodates one double room with private bathroom.
