Quinta das Merces

Quinta das Merces is a beautifully restored 17^th century manor house on Terceira’s sunny south coast.

The décor of the ten en-suite rooms is classic-Portuguese with polished cedar floors and delicately panelled ceilings. Outside, the intricate stonework, arched lintels and neo-manueline architectural touches hark back to the island’s golden era, when the nearby port of Angra was at the centre of Portugal’s overseas trade. The peaceful gardens are filled with romantic stone furniture – there’s also a tennis court, and a infinity pool with a gym below.
