Hotel Vale Verde is an intimate, family-owned hotel and is an excellent base from which to explore Furnas and eastern São Miguel.
This 2 star hotel is located on the main street in Furnas, just a short walk from the main town square and the botanical gardens. Hotel Vale Verde has 10 ensuite rooms all on the first floor with air conditioning and free WiFi. 7 rooms open onto a balcony which looks out over the village from the back of the hotel and have the nicest views. The 3 other rooms are at the front of the hotel but don’t have a balcony. The manager Rui is an excellent, friendly host, who will be able to offer you lots of help and advice during your holiday on São Miguel.
The bar and restaurant ‘Bocage’ are located on the ground floor offering a selection of Azorean dishes home cooked by Rui’s mother along with local beers and wines. Free parking is available at the rear of the hotel and there are also spaces in the street opposite.

Activities
There are some lovely walking and cycling trails straight from the hotel and kayaking on Furnas lake is a gentle but rewarding activity.
